About Latch Carpentry
Latch Carpentry is a carpentry and door fitting business based in Reading. It supplies, installs, inspects and maintains fire doors to ensure compliance with UK fire safety regulations, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Building Regulations Regulation 38. The business also fits internal and external doors, lays wood flooring, installs bespoke panelling, and builds custom porches, decking and garden offices. Bespoke furniture and storage are made to order.
Fire door work includes comprehensive inspections that examine certification, gaps, seals, hardware and self-closing devices, with a detailed compliance report and recommendations for remedial action. Installation is carried out with certified components in line with UK fire safety regulations. Maintenance visits check and maintain seals, hinges, closers and certification to keep doors compliant and operational.
Latch Carpentry covers the South East, with a focus on Berkshire. The team carries out work for homeowners, landlords and commercial properties. A home visit and free quote are offered before work begins. The business has fitted over 1,000 doors and works with door manufacturers and brands including Door Store. Recent projects include fitting 13 doors in a house and creating bespoke furniture. Sites are left clean and tidy after completion.
