About Simon Woodall Carpentry and Joinery
Simon Woodall Carpentry and Joinery is an independent carpentry and joinery business based in Plymouth, established in 1991. The team consists of time-served carpenters and joiners who are CITB trained and hold City and Guilds Advanced Craft Certificates. The company always has at least one apprentice undergoing CITB and City and Guilds training.
The business undertakes domestic and commercial work, including repair and restoration, doors and windows, garden structures and outdoor projects. Domestic projects range from shelving and staircases to garden castles and hot tub surrounds. Commercial clients include Plymouth City Council and more than twenty churches in Devon and East Cornwall. Recent work includes a Victorian conservatory porch with hardwood windows and doors, a private library in Californian redwood with live edge timber, an oak bookcase replacing a landing handrail, school climbing frames, garden rooms and green oak porches built with traditional mortice and tenon joints.
Simon Woodall Carpentry covers Plymouth, Devon and East Cornwall. The business also makes Boards from Bits, recycled hardwood chopping boards crafted from offcuts and old joinery in the workshop. For every twenty boards sold, the company pays to plant ten trees in the Amazon through One Tree Planted.
The business holds all necessary liability insurance and health and safety certificates. It offers written quotations. The company was nominated in the Quality Business Awards 2024.
