About Borkwood & Co.
Borkwood & Co. is a carpentry and joinery business based in Hackney. The business designs, handcrafts and installs made to measure furniture and interiors for residential and commercial projects. Services include fitted and freestanding furniture, and the team welcomes unique concepts and grand ideas.
The business operates from a workshop in Hackney Bridge, east London, where a team of craftspeople work with traditional carpentry and joinery techniques alongside contemporary design methods. Projects begin with contact by email or phone to discuss aspirations, budget and site information. A complimentary site visit follows, during which measurements are taken, spatial planning is carried out and recommendations are made. A guide price is provided at this stage.
Digital 3D designs are created to show an accurate representation of the project. Materials are then sourced, with samples provided where possible. Most of the build takes place in the workshop to minimise disruption on site. Installation uses dust extractors and floor protection to keep the workspace clean and safe. Aftercare guidance is offered on request for each piece produced.
